The search functionality for 3rd Party Media Web reports is limited. While you can create reports that require one of two keywords to be included, you cannot currently force both keywords to be included. To allow this functionality, you must first create a 3rd Party Media Web report matching on one of the keywords you want to search for. You can then create a 3rd Party Media Report Filter to further restrict the results from that report by a second keyword or phrase.
Navigate to Create Filtered Report
To view Create Filtered Report, navigate to the Report page by clicking Validate in the navigation bar.
Click on the 3rd Party Media card, as shown below.
Navigate to the Settings tab (Settings tab is default when no prior reports have been created), and open the Actions menu of the Web report you want to filter, as shown below. Select Create Report Filter.
Filtering a 3rd Party Media Web Report
You will see the Create Filtered Report popup, as shown below.
In the Filtered Report Name field, enter a name for the report.
In the Keyword field, enter the keyword(s) you would like to report on. A guideline for how to formulate your query is as follows:
|
Operator |
Use |
Example(s) |
Caveat(s) |
|---|---|---|---|
|
& or space |
To gather results containing more than one term |
chicken & turkey
chicken turkey |
X & Y searches do not enforce consecutiveness between the terms |
|
"" = quotation marks§ |
To enforce consecutiveness |
"Super Bowl" |
Without quotation marks, X Y searches will return results for X AND Y: e.g., Super AND Bowl |
|
OR |
To gather results containing one term or the other |
chicken OR turkey |
X OR Y searches also include results that contain both terms: e.g., chicken AND turkey |
|
- = dash |
To gather results containing one term but not the other |
chicken -soup |
|
|
Note: Search is case-insensitive. Note: Parentheses are disallowed. When combining &s and ORs, &s are grouped first. For example, A & B OR C = (A & B) OR C, while A OR B & C = A OR (B & C).
§ If you are encountering issues with quotation marks on a Mac, try disabling System Preferences > Keyboard > Text > Use smart quotes and dashes. |

When you have completed your entries, click the Save button. Your 3rd Party Media Report Filter will appear on the 3rd Party Media Reports page under the Active tab for Web.
