The Post Resurgence Side Drawer opens when you click on a Post Resurgence event in the Observe dashboard. A Post Resurgence occurs when a dormant social post gets renewed interest, as detected by a spike in impressions or engagement.
Event Details
The post is displayed at the top of the drawer, including the original day and time of the post (listed by your time zone), along with any associated annotations.
Below that, you will see:
- Surge Start: The Surge Start is the date the surge began.
- Surge End: The Surge End is the date the surge ended.
- Post Age at Surge: The Post Age at Surge is how old the post was when the surge began.
- Showing: Showing provides the date range being shown in the graphs.
- Bonus Imp. (impressions): Bonus Imp. displays the number of incremental impressions you gained during this surge. This is the number of users beyond the expected amount. Without the surge, you would not have had these additional impressions.
- Surge: Surge indicates if the surge was MAJOR or MINOR for your post. This indicates the relative ranking of this resurgence and compares the resurgence to the initial surge for the post. The greater the peak delta percentage, the stronger the indicator. This is calculated as follows:
- For each date within the date range selected, the peak number of posts, the peak delta count, and the peak excess count are examined.
- The max of their respective daily values over all dates within the date range is used to calculate the daily delta (i.e., current value - previous value).
- The relative rank is then determined.
- The event with the largest daily delta is assigned 100 and all others are a percentage of that event.
- Complete?: Complete? displays whether the surge has ended, indicated by Yes, or if it is still in process, indicated by No.
- Follower Growth in Period: Follower Growth in Period displays the number of new followers gained during the surge.
- Rank: Rank displays the rank mentioned in the Surge explanation above for this event as compared to that of other post surges.
- Length: Length displays the total number of days for the surge.
