The Link Accounts page is where you link all of your social and web accounts to Alembic.
Navigate to Link Accounts
Open the user dropdown by clicking the down arrow in the top right corner of the page.
Select Link Accounts.
Link Accounts
There are three tabs within Link Accounts:
- Accounts you have connected to Alembic: Shows the accounts that you own. These are viewable only to you until they have been enabled.
- Accounts enabled in this Container: Shows all accounts that have been enabled in this container, whether you own them ore not.
- Accounts enabled in your Organization: Shows all accounts that have been enabled in this organization, whether you own them or not.

Enabling & Disabling Accounts
Once you have all of your accounts linked to Alembic, they will need to be enabled to begin data collection. Enable each account by clicking the Disabled button to the right and hitting Enable.
If you want to stop data collection for an account, click on the green Enabled button. A Disable option will appear.
Assigning Accounts to Containers
For accounts to be enabled, they need to be assigned to a container. This defines where the data will live and which other accounts it can interact with.
To assign an account to a container, or move accounts between containers, open the Container dropdown by clicking on the down arrow. Select the destination container for the account.
Selecting None or clicking on the × icon next to the container assignment will remove the account from its current container and disable it.
How Does Account Linking Work?
Alembic uses OAuth to link to different platforms and data sources. Have you ever seen a ‘Sign in with Facebook’ option on a website? That is OAuth.
OAuth is an open-standard authorization system that grants applications the ability to share “secure designated access” with each other. OAuth uses authorization tokens to grant access to an account rather than passwords. By using OAuth, you can set up your Alembic account in just a few clicks and keep all of your accounts and passwords completely secure.
Occasionally, OAuth tokens need to be relinked to confirm the connection is still approved. If this happens, Alembic Support will contact you to assist.
Requirements
To link your accounts to Alembic, certain settings must be in place to meet each platform’s requirements. Please make sure to have the following settings in place before linking to Alembic. Follow the Related Help Center Pages below for more information.

These permissions are often available to a System Administrator by default. However, if you prefer to use a different profile or custom permission set, please ensure it includes the necessary object permissions (read-access only) and access to Field History Tracking. |
|
TikTok |
No restrictions. |
Limitations
Upon linking, Alembic automatically ingests all of the available historical data per platform. Each platform allows a different amount of historical data to be collected. There are also different timing delays per platform from when the data is ingested to when it is available to be displayed in Alembic. Both the data ingestion and data display limitations are listed below.

From the time of linking, Alembic also stores time series data for each post and data event. These values are updated once or twice a day. This time series data allows Alembic to track trends and changes over time. If an account should ever become unlinked, all data collection stops until the account is relinked. When the account is relinked, Alembic will automatically backfill the missing historical posts and lifetime data, but no time series data will be available for the unlinked period.
Unlinked Accounts & Relinking OAuth Tokens
Occasionally, your accounts may be disconnected from Alembic and need to be relinked. This may happen for several reasons:
1. Your OAuth token has expired and needs to be relinked. Each social network has different token expiration limits.
2. A change was made on your social/web account and the OAuth token needs to be reissued. Changes can include:
- Changing the password on your account
- Changing your multi-factor authentication(MFA) security settings
- Changing your user role to a Facebook/LinkedIn Page
3. A re-authentication request is sent by the social networks. This can happen for a number of reasons and is dependent on the social media networks.
4. Alembic access has been revoked from your social media account.
If one or more of your accounts becomes unlinked, you will receive a notification with a link to relink your accounts. If this happens, Alembic Support will contact you to assist.
