Shortlinks allows you to create shortlinks and provides the analytics associated with them. Shortlinks are condensed, customizable URLs (e.g., https://albc.us/earthday22) that you can use to track specific campaigns and direct traffic across social media channels, email, blogs, etc.
Alembic provides corresponding QR codes for all shortlinks as well as for non-digital campaigns such as billboards and live events.
Navigate to Shortlinks
To view Shortlinks, navigate to the Validate page by clicking Validate in the navigation bar.
Click on the Shortlinks card, as shown below.
On the Links page, click on the analytics icon of an existing shortlink. If none exist, create one first.
For an aggregate of all shortlink analytics, click the Analytics button on the upper right. This provides a compilation of the metrics for all your shortlinks in one report.

Shortlink Analytics consists of the following sections:
- All Clicks (individual + aggregate)
- Trending Links in Selected Period (aggregate only)
- Recent Clicks (aggregate only)
- Top Channels (individual + aggregate)
- Top Browsers (individual + aggregate)
- Demographics (individual + aggregate)
- Link Performance Total, Link Performance Referrals (aggregate only)
All Clicks Graph
All Clicks displays the total number of times a user clicked on one of the shortlinks to reach your website. As shown below, the information is displayed by day in the time period selected.
Trending Links in Selected Period
The Trending Links in Selected Period table displays the Total Clicks, Unique Clicks, and Change from previous (percentage) by Shortlink for the time period selected. The list includes up to six items, in descending order by Total Clicks.
Clicking on the Shortlink will take you to its details.
Recent Clicks
The Recent Clicks table displays the most recent clicks on your shortlinks (up to six) for the time period selected, including, for each Shortlink clicked, the Date it was clicked and its Owner.
Clicking on the Shortlink will take you to its details.
Top Sources
Top Sources displays the percentage of clicks driven by each social media channel for the time period selected. If the percentage shown is 0%, as shown in the image below, this means that zero clicks were driven by the corresponding social media channel.
Top Browsers
Top Browsers displays the percentage of clicks driven by device for the time period selected. If the percentage shown is 0%, as shown in the image below, this means that zero clicks were driven by the corresponding device.
Demographics
The Demographics graph provides the demographic breakdown of your users by country in the time period by selected channels. Hovering over the individual countries will provide the total users in each country.
The Demographics table provides Unique Clicks (with relative percentage) and Total Clicks (with relative percentage) by Language.
Link Performance Total, Link Performance Referrals
These tables summarize Link Performance Total and Link Performance Referrals.
Link Performance Total Table
In the Link Performance Total table, you can see the details for each Shortlink, including Date, Original Link, Page Title, Total Clicks, Unique Clicks, and Campaign. You can sort the table by Total Clicks or Unique Clicks by clicking on the appropriate column heading.
Clicking on the Shortlink will take you to its details. Clicking on the Original Link will take you to the webpage accessed through the shortlink.
Link Performance Referrals Table
Link Performance Referrals displays the sources referring users to your website. You can see the details for each Source, including the Unique Clicks (with relative percentage) and Total Clicks (with relative percentage).
Shortlink Details Page
Clicking on a Shortlink in one of the tables will open a new page with details on that shortlink, including when it was created and more.
Links Page
You can manage your shortlinks on the Links page, which you can access by 1) exiting a Shortlink Analytics report or 2) re-entering Shortlinks from the Reports screen.
You will see two tabs: Active and Disabled.
Active Tab
The Active tab lists all active shortlinks you have created within this container. You will see the following information for each shortlink:
- Date: The date the shortlink was created.
- Shortlink: The shortlink itself.
- Original Link: The page the shortlink points to.
- Page Title: The title of the page the shortlink points to.
- Total Clicks: The total number of clicks the shortlink has gotten.
- Unique Clicks: The number of unique clicks the shortlink has gotten.
- Campaign: The campaign the shortlink is associated with.
- Analytics icon: Clicking on this will open the individual shortlink's analytics.

Actions: Clicking on this menu reveals the following options:
- Edit: This will allow you to make changes to the shortlink.
- QR Code: This will generate a unique QR code for the shortlink to use across multiple media campaigns.

Duplicate: This creates a new shortlink using the existing shortlink's parameters as the starting point. The existing shortlink remains as initially created. If you did NOT use a vanity code for the link you're duplicating, simply click Create and a new shortlink will be auto-generated.
- Note: Vanity codes cannot be reused for the same Destination URL. If you used a vanity code for the link you're duplicating, you must change it before clicking Create.
- Disable: This deactivates the shortlink and moves it to the Disabled tab.
- Delete: The shortlink will be permanently deleted and removed from the Alembic platform.
Disabled Tab
The Disabled tab lists all shortlinks that have been disabled within this container. To re-enable a shortlink, click on the Actions menu for that shortlink and select Enable. This will return the shortlink to the Active tab.
